Job Postings - Occasional Teachers
When recruiting for the occasional teaching lists is required, we advertise on the Apply to Education Network (ATEN) at applytoeducation.com. Schools and Human Resources do not accept resumes or keep unsolicited paper or electronic resumes.
Applicants need to register on ATEN and then apply directly to the posting (provided they meet the criteria specified in the advertisement.)
In your application please include the following:
♦Certificate (or Interim) of Qualification (if available)
♦Practicum Reports or Teacher Evaluation
♦Reference Letters
Address your cover letter to Lori Atkins, Human Resources Specialist-Recruitment. Please ensure you outline in this letter your availability and the geographical areas you are willing to work. If you are moving, please note which area of the Board you will be residing and when.
A police records check (including a vulnerable sector search), valid within six months from the date of hire, is a condition of employment with our Board. Please note that there have been reports that it may take up to 6 weeks to process police records checks in some jurisdictions. With that in mind, we strongly suggest that candidates obtain a police screening as soon as possible.
You must be a certified teacher in Ontario to work as an occasional teacher. On the rare occasions a certified teacher is not available for a position, we will invite applications from non-certified applicants. These jobs would be advertised on applytoeducation.com as well.
