Community Use of Schools
Schools are the centres of our communities. The Community Use of Schools program provides space to come together, to volunteer, build skills, access programs, become physically active and develop strong and healthy communities.
KPRDSB offers community agencies, parent groups, sports organizations, and local citizens fair access to school space at affordable rates during non-school hours, in accordance with Board Policy B-8.2 Community Use of School Facilities. Community Use of Schools is subject to availability and may not interfere with scheduled school activities.
Our Schools - the Centres of Our Communities
We are proud to have one of the most successful Community Use of Schools programs in the province. Last year our gyms, libraries, classrooms and fields were used over 50,000 hours by not-for-profit student, community and seniors' organizations.
Our schools are filled with groups 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. weekdays and most weekends for activities such as Scouts, Guides, soccer, volleyball, basketball, yoga, pickle ball, church services and a wide variety of special events.
