School for Young Moms
Thinking about attending the School for Young Moms in the fall?
Registration will take place by appointment from September 7—10th, 2010. Please call the School for Young Moms Coordinator at 705-748-9144 x 319 for more information or to make an appointment. The coordinator will return yourcall during the last week of August.
If you require information during the months ofJuly and August, please call Ann Bell, Public Health Nurse at 743-1000.
The recent School for Young Moms fundraiser 'Bags for Babes' raised $23,000 for the ongoing operation of this very successful program. The funds will be devoted to operating the child care portion of the program and nutrition and parenting programs for students. The School for Young Moms enables pregnant teens and mothers under the age of 21 to:

continue their high school education
-
develop their parenting skills
-
address their emotional, social and physical needs, and
-
receive onsite care for their infants.
Young women achieve these outcomes with the assistance of professional staff and volunteers from a variety of community organizations.
Work Towards High School Completion
Students at the School for Young Moms have the chance to:

Earn high school credits.

Work at your own pace.
-
Receive help from the teacher.
-
Attend Monday to Friday throughout the school year.

Have your own timetable.

Access secondary school resources and programs.
